Does anyone have any sort of information on Greenfield Motors Ltd. which was located in Balcarres Sask? My 67 Beaumont was purchased new at this dealer and then somehow ended up in Calgary by the late 70's. In the first 13 years of it's life it was used as a drag car from what I can tell. It used to have 6 gauges drilled into the dash above the glovebox and the battery in the trunk. There is also evidence of a driveshaft loop, some sort of a rollbar, tow bar brackets, as well as brass bushings in the four link arms. The car has always kept its original Granada Gold color but it did start out with side stripes. My hope is to trigger someones memory of this car and find out more about the "missing years" or to find early photos of it racing. I know the history from 1980 to present since it has been my fathers car and now mine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When I got my GM documents in 1991, they didn't tell you the name of the dealer but they gave me a copy of the microfiche with the dealer number on it. Nobody could tell me the dealer name except that the car was sold in Sask. So last year, I got a new set of GM documents and it had the dealer name. I figured it would be worth a try to ask about it now that I know the dealer name. As well , there are many more members here. Hopefully I can find out more info.

I thought Balcarres sounded familiar, it's on the way from Regina to Yorkton, and I've passed through it many times. Big John Preikschat from POCI lives in White City, which is towards the Regina end. I'll send him a note to see what he knows of Greenfield Motors.
Thanks Clint. Maybe try mentioning my car around Calgary as well. I took it to RaceCity in the early 90's and a gentleman approached me and knew the car from it's racing days. Silly me, I didn't get his name or number. First thing he asked me was "did this car used to have a bunch of gauges in the dash?"
this question is off topic , but could you show me the picture of the car on the left
in that small picture by your nickname
the color of that car is the same as my 67 !!!
Here is the large picture. The silver car was parked on a side street in Calgary when we were passing by. Just happened to have a camera and it seemed like a perfect time to take a picture. Funny part is, I took the picture and the other two guys don't own either car. The blond guy happens to be a CP member: Chader.

what a great photo... the era correct hair doo's and storm rider jacket bring back a TON of memories. Were you ever down to BS corner? the old parking lot down town that all the gear heads would go to and shoot the breeze about hot rodding and then go race somewhere in the city. There was actually a 69 fathom green Yenko camaro there on the gravel lot one night.
I use to work with a guy that was from Balcarres while I worked at the dealer here in Foam Lake. When he was there he was the service manager the an owner of some sorts. While I have no real info on the dealer, I will post a sale flyer I got from him. It is around 1968.........

There is another 67 SD in those SIR photos. It is a red car with white stripes and a black roof if I recall. It has been a while since I searched those photos. Some really cool old racing photos for sure!
Yup, page 21, about 4th row down and on the right of the page is the red 67 SD396

I wonder where that red SD is now? That is probably a 1of 1 color combo with the stripes since there is believed to be about 117 SD's ordered with stripes in 67.
With all the new members we have, I'd like to bring this topic of Greenfield Motors (Balcarres Sk) up again. Still desparate to know the history of my car for the first 13 years of its life.
This is cool. I just finished a phone call with a gentleman in southern Manitoba who has another 67 SD 396 from Greenfield Motors in Saskatchewan! What were the odds of that?
Hopefully you will see him on here. I encouraged him to sign up because some of you guys might be able to help him with info he's seeking on his car.

Interesting that you have a Chevrolet that was bought new there. They must have sold all 4 lines? Chev, Olds, Pontiac, Buick? That's not common for small towns to have the 4 lines at one dealership.
