Spring has sprung!

Went up to see the fellow who owns the barn where the Gp gets stored.
Wanted to ask him about when the cars start coming out...
The car in front of mine had already left, so it was back to town to fetch the battery.

The weather was so warm here (17c) that I couldn't help myself.

Best thing was...no sign of mice anywhere in the car.
I had placed Bounce fabric softener sheets everywhere, and the car smelled nice!
Took the cover off, totaly as I left it.

Fired right up, some blue for about a minute, then away we went.

There is just somthing special about that first drive of the spring. Only car, bike or boat guys will ever know.

Now we can get started on the drivability improvements!

Cheers, Mark

I don`t put them back on the road till after the May 24 weekend. Seems the good days are only a few till that point so save the insurance cost till then.

You're right. It's looking pretty good out there. Saw 2 or 3 convertibles yesterday with their tops down but I kept mine up. Neighbour cut his grass on the weekend so things are perking right up. Saw a ball team practising the other day so it must be springtime.

Do you actually pull the road insurance in the winter Kevin?
I'm lucky that I didn't start my insurance till last fall. Silver wheels, $170 a year.
Just fire it up and go. Sticker not due till July.

But you're absolutely right, these warm days are a fluke, It'll probably snow! But it's nice to have the car back in my drive, I'll be doing some suspension work so she'll be laid up for at least a few weeks.

Have you tried using the snow blower to clean a route?  Shop vac mounted in back of the pickup. Or you could pull out a broom and get some exercise. Pay a neighbourhood kid $0.25 per 5 gal pail of road grime. giggle.gif

I have many newer cars and trucks that silver wheels do not cover. In the fall I pull the insurance, only keep the comp. coverage on.

Guess the good weather got to me as well, fired up the 64 & took it for a 'tour"!!!  Just had to "clean out" the carbs of the old gas & get some fresh stuff in them. Forgot how "hard" this ol girl pulls with both 4 bbls. wide open, "WHAT A RUSH" Hope were done with winter, but I heard next week could have some snow. Township just had the streetsweeper in our town, thought it was too early, if we get snow & they start "dumping" more sand & salt it will be a waste of tax money as they will have to come back & do it again, especially when thay have to contract out for the cleaning!!! Lets hope it's over with!!!!
