The Cp is tops in my mind. But in some ways we always dream of owning that "Something else". It might be because the Cp can't give us the proper thrill, it might be due to a longing that goes back to our early days, who knows...but we all secretly or not so harbour a longing for something else...
Mine is a 63-65 Dodge or Plymouth B Body post car. Ultimately a Hemi, newer 440 or even a 426 or 413 clone done in some sort of Super Stock livery look. You know, up high, Street slicks and black rims in the back with bright wheels up front. Big power, cammy sound, 5 spd. Cage. No real flash.
Even My big heavy 67 chassis completed could probably out handle one of these, but forget straight line or street presence. These sweet DCP cars imop have the cool factor all locked up b a long shot. My hair on the back of my neck stands up whan I see one rolling by.
What is your "Alternate car"?

First off, my heart is GM, so there is a huge list of those. In a nutshell, an SD T/A, 69 T/A, 67-68 Firebird 400, SD Catalina, 64 GTO convert, 65-66 2+2, 70 GS, 87 Grand National, 70-72 W30. All of the above in convert when available and with the biggest engine and a 4 speed when available.
I hate F__d but if I have to pick other than GM, 67 Fairlane XL. Dodge? 67 GTX.
Canadian Poncho list?
An original 65 Acadian post car or wagon, 300 horse 327 4 speed matching numbers.
66-67 Acadian 327 (L79 for 66)
64 Beaumont SD convert.
66-67 Beaumont SD 396.
Any year B body big block stick, including the W series engines.
57 Laurentian convert.
68-70 Acadian SS.
All of the above, biggest engine and a stick!

Tops would be a '67 Sting Ray rag top. Then a big block 71 'Cuda. (I can't imagine a nicer front end on a car), preferably Plumb Crazy. Then probably a '70 Road Runner or GTX. Next would be a 68 or 69 Charger. Followed by a '70 Chevelle. I would "settle" though, for a BB, 4 speed, 66 SD rag. Preferably black with a red interior. (I'm told one exists, but has yet to come out of hiding...)

When you say no real flash ....you mean something like this!!!!

I was at the car show in London yesterday and saw a 71 Hemi Cuda. Not Plum Crazy but sure was nice. Also there was a black on black vinyl top 70 GTX with dog dishes on black steelies, subtle and so mean. Had a hemi. Now i don't technically have a CDN built car, so if i had a choice i hope you'll indulge me in choosing a CP and a non CP car. CP car, 66 or 67 Beaumont 396 car, convertible if possible. I'd settle for auto because i'd like to cruise. Non CP car, one i saw yesterday, recreation 68 Hemicuda, complete with cross ram and dual carbs.
Mine's a long list but as I've mentioned here before, I really want a South-African CanAm Firenza!. Factory built w/ a 302 Chevy and a Muncie in a car that weighs almost nothing...some good gas and a pack of adult diapers and a fella could have some real fun w/ one of these!!!
