Things are coming along slowly. The brakes are just about done. Tiny came out the other night with his sweet hydraulic brake line flaring tool and we got the lines done. I installed a dual master cyl. I need to convert the pressure brake light switch to a pedal operated switch. I might have a buyer from Austria. I'll know in a couple of days. He wants to turn it into a convertible! Maybe THIS is why..
I should know by tomorrow if he wants it. I talked to one of the fellows who restores his cars (he is in BC). He would do the conversion. He is leary about cutting up such a rare car but a customer is a customer..
If it doesn't sell I've got a master hot rod builder who is going to put the California floors in for me. I also found a source in Michigan for NOS upholstery.
It is my goal to have the car in driving condition soon and then put it up for sale.

Todd,  a couple weeks ago, the wife and I had rented a car to drive up and visit her cousins who were several hundred miles north of us in Florida.  We have been using the 62 Nova convertible for transportation while down here but we needed a car to carry 5 people so I drove out to the airport and rented one.  It turned out to be cheaper to rent it for a week than the 3 days we really needed it so after returning to Ft Myers, we still had the car for 4 more days.
So, we decide to drive to Miami for the weekend and see the sights.  Anyway, on the way back I decide to cut across Florida from east to west and ignore the Interstate.  As we head into the center of Florida, we enter a small town called Belle Glades.  This towns claim to fame is a correctional institution and a large medical center.  At least, that was the way I saw it.  Otherwise, it appears to be a primarily agricultural area.
Well, going through the area I notice a couple old cars setting in a row in front of an automotive repair shop.  I hang a quick right and pull in right beside these cars.  Now why I didn't pull out the camera, I still don't know.
There were a couple cars I really didn't care too much about, I think a 63-64 Comet and a Falcon Ranchero.  The other three cars were two DeSoto's and a Dodge.  The thing that caught my eye was I think they were all 58 or 59 models and they were all two door sedan's.  This seemed very unusual to me.  I would have expected either four doors or two door hardtop's.  These cars all appeared to be survivor cars.  They were by no means retored but they only had a couple of small bubbles under the paint in the rocker or lower quarter area.  As I remember, they were all two tone cars, again it seemed unusual for a sedan to have a more deluxe paint job.
With the fin rising in the rear it just seemed unique having the large rear quarter due to the two door.
It is a bit of a drive to go back over there but I hope to find the time before I leave so that I can take a couple pictures of these cars.  It was quite a sight.
Norm
