Rim size for 67 Beaumont

Hi Guys,

Can someone please help me with appropriate wheel sizes for my 67 Beaumont A-Body.  I would like to put on some 17" rims but I not sure what the offset or width of the rim should be.  I currently have disks in the front and drums at the back but I plan to change to disks all round in the future.  I have seen some of the members rides and would really like to go for the "muscle" look with possibly a wider rim at the back.

Regards

Yeah, I agree, you should go with 18s!!! I like bigger wheels... I'd like to go to 17s or 18s on mine... 15's just look like there are some balloons wrapped on there! I'd probably go 7's front, 8's rear (or 8s all around, but i like the look of wider in the rear)... but it looks like some guys go as wide as 9.5 rear!

here is some info off of the team chevelle website, you will find good fitment info on there...

14's are factory (and too small in my opinion). I ordered 15" ralley wheels, but if I could do it again I'd go with 17". 16" and 14" tires are both going to be hard too find before too long, therefore 17" I think are best.

I have 15" rallys on my car and I wish I hade 14"s. It seems the latest trend is to go with large rims skinny tires It's not for me but I seem to be the minority.

Personally, I like original rims on a car however I'm going to mount my original 14" F70 BFG Silvertown redlines on my original rally wheels and I'm going to drive the car on the largest size of reproduction red lines I can get on 15"x6" front and 15"x8" rear. Tires are a bolt on and its whatever pleases you, not anyone else. I suppose I should have said tires and wheels are a bolt on.

Thanks for all the advice guys.  I know is't a no no to mess with the good old standard 14" or 15" for a 67 Beaumont, but I really love the look of a set of 17" rims.  I'm thinking 17x8.5 4.75 front and 17x10 4.75 rear.  Hope the brakes, fenders and all the other in the way stuff don't become a problem...  smile.gif

I will check the back spacing tonite...have had these on for 5 years...Torque Thrust 2's, 17 inch. I think they are 17 x 8 on back, 4.5 back spacing and 17 x 6 on front. Hopefully will find the sales bill to verify tonite.

Putting 10s on the back will be tight... you would probably have to roll the rear lip to have the tire fit under... also note the guys that i've listed in my earlier reply are using 5.5" bs on the wider 9.5" rear rims.... (using 4.75" with an 8" rim)

Good luck, let us know what you pick, and what sizes work! also some before and after pictures!

14s are the way to go because they are as rare as our cars. Screw the gooney goo goo 16s 17s and 18s . as a last resort I would go with 15s. Just my opinion.

that is also  my  opinion

those giant wagon wheel rims  are for dodge pick ups   and  todays  luxury hi tech   cars

14 and  15  inch  rims  belong  to the sixtys  and  seventys

lets keep it original !!
