Too bad GM couldn't figure out how to put the little beltline dip on the wagons & SD's like the sedans & hartops had, to break up that slab side a little.
I wonder why I never saw a 55 Chevy with those taillights, presumably it would have been a no-bodywork swap for a custom touch ... I saw lots of 55 Fords with the Mercury SW taillights ...

On 4DR wagons some guys have replaced the outer skin with sedan doors/ skins to get the dip. It is a little more involved when using SS window trim as the wagons have a different width trim from the sedans. My 57 chevy wagon has the dip on the inside frame of the doors(sedan lowers), and is covered by the wagon window trim.
