Having never owned a big block, but always wanting to, I will abstain from voting. But I am very interested to see how this turns out.

I've never owned a Big Block, but I have to say I have beat the crap out of my small block and aside from smoking more on start up.....has never left me stranded!! I like 'em

Well lets see, I kept the 454 from my old 70 Parisienne in hopes I'd put it in another car someday, and it ended up in my 70 2+2 convertible. I bought a spare 454 from a true 70 2+2 convertible (1 of 4), and bought a 70 Safari Estate wagon for it's 454. I think I'm partial to big blocks.

Its true that it is very manly (make tim allen grunting noises here) when you lift the hood and see that big rat staring up at you! You just know you're going to have a good time!
I agree with you too! I love them all! Fantastic design (Ed Cole) My avatar snow- covered 39 Buick has a 67 327 in front of a 700r4. Great cruiser! That engine justs sounds so darn happy at 100 klicks (or so)

hey ken ever spun the dulies on a 980 GMC with a 409 and a fifth wheel you learn to respect the grand dady big block
Hey 65 wagon, i remember my bro twisting the driveshaft off and pretty much splitting the bell housing in half in his 65 409 car during the 1st to second shift so I know what you mean!
(Night guys. Off to Three Hills in the morning to pick up the 66 GP parts car!)
Will update when I get the chance.

my mom has a sb, lol i always thought sb were for girls and bb for men, nothing like torque and horse power, but if you have a sb there still cool, but not as cool as a bb lol just giving you folks the gears, they all have there place.

hey with all them 454 ya got do you have any parts i need a water pump
I really do like both yet I voted for the BB. Guess I'm just partial to the big block cars of the 60's. Having had far more SB than BB, I do truly love a high winding mouse. A small block is the more practical engine for almost anything except that I would take the extra inches when it comes to drag racing at a track. Problem I always noticed is that the extra torque and more weight on the front of the car with a BB, it was much harder to make the car hook up. For the street, I'll take the mighty mouse. Better for handling and a street race is rarely more than 0-50mph.
