Attached is a pic under the hhod from last summer.
Very nice! Do the valve cover decals say Beaumont on them?

o3cts sport thanks for your email from yesterday. It was your email that connected me to this site. When I get home I will get you the stats I received from GM. Let me know what pictures you would like and I will post them. Again thanks for your email its great to talk to people that have an interest in the Beaumont.
Jack,
I thought I gave you this site a long time ago-I was wondering why you weren't on here. Maybe I didn't give it to you but I'm pretty sure I was telling you about it-sorry
Thankfully, it looks like one of the few that never died LOL.

It seems like there are some that say Beaumont, some that say Acadian, and some that say neither?

One thing I always found amusing is that these cars, these honorary Pontiacs, were pure Chevrolet underneath. yet the aircleaners on both the Canadian Chevies & Canadian Pontiacs through 1966 were Pontiac air cleaners (at least on the small block V8s). There are so many little details that are unique to them, like the firewall & trunk paint (body colour), power brake booster reservoir (painted black through 1966), oil filler caps painted orange, not black as the U.S. Chevies.
I seriously was considering a 1966 Beaumont Custom sport coupe back in 1987 from the original owner but I had no place to keep it as I had recently gotten a 1-owner 1967 Chevelle, which I still have. The Beaumont was Marina Blue like yours, and unusual for a six-cylinder car back then, also had factory power steering & power brakes. The valve cover decal said Turbo Thrift 230 like a Chevrolet, yet was confirmed as original to the car. I have hear that Chevelles & Beaumonts rolled down the same line intermixed, so it is easy to see why the Chevelle & Beaumont had the same number of options available, why the valve covers on the Canadian Chevelles did not have the Chevrolet script; stuff like that.

Just joined on this website. Didn't even know about this site. My ride's not near as nice as yours but I'm still working toward finishing the metal work. My first 2 pics are from before I started. Though the pics don't show it the frame and body was full of rust. The update is...I've put in a new frame which I was lucky to find. Then replaced the rusty floor, floor braces, complete trunk, rear wheel wells, door skins, fender patch panels, left quarter panel and now working on the last right quarter panel. (the light at the end of the tunnel it seems). Also realize this thread's a year old.
Welcome aboard Peter. You're going to love it here. Great looking '66 you have there! Thanks for posting the pic's.

I don't understand some of the differences though...his front fender flags emblem vs the V8 emblem on mine. Also the front bumper push bars vs. non push bars. Were these option differences ? Also, My '66 is the only one I've seen with head-rests. My aunt bought the car when it was 1 year old, and I bought it off her about 10 years later. I'm thinking the 1st original owner must of added these on in '67 when I think they became available. Does anybody else have them ?
Fender flags were a Chevy thing that some owners added afterwards. Your V8 emblems are correct. Bumper guards were an option. (And I believe that the placement of the radio antenae's were at the mercy of the dealers?)
Whether or not your car came with the headrests and bumper guards, should be answered by the GM documentation which is available for something like $50.00.
Nice restoration work!

Thanks for your help 03cts sport. I think I will contact GM for thier info. I'm really impressed by this site. It appears that it took me a long time to fall off the Turnup truck to discover it. Got to get out of the garage more often.
If you don't already have it, I believe the contact is still: George Zapora at 1-888-467-6853 or 905-440-7636 or email at george.zapora@cc.gm.ca George is a good man. Make sure you keep us posted. Nice car!!!
PS I think that square side mirror might be off a '67?

Welcome, Peter! Headrests are a legit option in 1966 and are rare. Your 66 appears to be Royal Mist (dark blue) with Bright Blue interior (a Sport Deluxe & also Custom convertible colour).
A classmates mother used to own a 283-powered 66 Chevelle 300 convertible in the same colours as your car except for the milder medium blue interior. The car was traded in on a new 1973 Pontiac Ventura.
Normally I am not a huge Cragar SS fan, but they work very nicely on certain cars (1960-early 70s Mopars, 1966 Beaumonts...)

Thanks everyone for your comments. I'll phone George Zapora tomorrow and try and get the full scoop. I'll keep you posted.
I know the drivers mirror's not correct.....but back in the day, when I was a teenager and still knew everything, I thought bigger was better and changed it. I'll have to dig around, but I have the feeling it got chucked.
