Seat covers

As some of you know there are some cars that you cannot buy replacement  sewn seat covers for. My 59 Dodge was one of them. Before I sold the car I did some research and found Original Auto Interiors in Columbus, Michigan. I gave them a call and much to my surprise they had a NOS rear seat bottom service replacement cover in stock, in my colour and pattern! Terry, one of the employees said to give him a week to go through their huge inventory of NOS rolls of material to see if he could find enough to sew the rest of the interior. He called me back in a week and he had the material. They even have the original sewing plans for most cars. I ordered them up and they showed up today. They are beautiful! Exact relacements. MMM, that NOS material smells great! The new buyer bought them from me so they will go with the car. Since a lot of Canadian Pontiacs with cloth interior used Chevy patterns, I bet they would have the materials in stock. Worth a look. I was impressed with the service, quality and speed of getting these covers to me.

i talked to them also, actually tried to go see them one day as i was working but they were closed by the time i got there. He said if i remember correctly that he dident have the pattern for my car but could make it if i had some of the original pattern for him to see, was a real nice guy, looks like they have quality stuff, saw a convertible over in the states they did.

those look great, in my opinion nothing beats an original style interior, if
you dont mind, how much did something like that cost? i gather the more
rare the more expensive?

It was $900 for both seats. I think that is pretty good considering the intricate pattern. It's cool to see "Oct 8, 58" stamped on the back of the material!
