Pontiac came first, then Oakland and Pontiac co-existed for a while. The post above has it all.

I likely have the newest Pontiac on the site....2009 G8 GT. Bought it as soon as I found out they were closing the doors on Pontiac last year. Last new model Pontiac produced before GM pulled the pin.  I ended up buying it from the same dealership that sold my 65 Acadian, 44 years earlier!  (Stampede Pontiac, Calgary)  Sad part is that GM has pulled their dealership and they are no longer.
