Yeah, we could save some money and it probably wouldn't take a whole lot longer.  Another thing people probably wouldn't protest because it was done by nature.  I remember about 10 years ago my dad had a drainage system running through his farm property south of Edmonton for the spring run off to go to a nearby lake.  There was a fairly big culvert at the end of one pond and a couple beavers plugged it up and the battle was on.  My dad spent all day clearing it away and the beavers spent all night cutting down some small trees and plugging it.  After about 3 days Dad gave up and we never let him forget about it, was a great battle and a great laugh.  But over his life time he did skin quite a few beavers and sell them to the Hudson Bay.  I also bought my first car with the proceeds of selling muskrat pelts while in high school, those were the good ole days.

A few of those have showed up here during the floods. Destructive critters when they arrive. They don't usually stick around very long.......

They are no match for a 12 gauge.  No wonder they don't stick around, they are floating belly up in the current when they leave!

Does that fall under the "natural causes" category?

For those who would rather read than view:

Maybe Florida should invite some Canadian beavers down next winter, if any of the levees around Lake Okeechobee need bolstering, eh?
