Steering wheel

I need to replace my steering wheel , or try and clean it up
anyone know if an impala wheel is the same ??
I have new "chrome rings" to replace the missing ones
and should be able to polish the rest.
Thanks

If your wheel is not cracked by the hub, then keep it because every used one I have seen is cracked on the bar next to the hub.
These wheels are really cool when they are two tone.  My 62 conv. was two tone light and dark aqua and I really liked that look.  The only red ones I have seen two tone though are not near as cool looking.  They are dark red and the color of yours.  It just isn't enough of a difference in the colors for me.
I have a couple extra's but like I said, they are all cracked.

I tried to buy these rings last spring at Carlisle. Supplier told me that the ones for sale are for the early 60s small cars and wouldn't fit my 65 full size. Go figure.

If I understand correctly and you have restored the blue one to become the red one in the picture...CONGRATS!smile  Nicely done!

Lefty, it turned out great! The Big Cars used a larger diameter wheel.

still not happy with the colour, needs to be one shade darker, but at least i know i can do it..
I may paint the inner section with some original colour paint i have left from painting the car
I will also have some of the paint (chrome ring) dividers left if anyone is interested..
