(On a side note, we just came across our old Hornby train set from about 1964.)

John sent me a PM mentioning he had found some old train items. Those are from the late 1970's. This is what you'd find in starter train sets sold at dept stores. The steam engine and passenger car is cool. It's H.O scale. I think Vince on here models in H.O. He can have first crack at it if he wants it.
Todd, didn't know you were into trains, I've got a few HO set ups + a Lionel 027 train & track. Most of the HO stuff has never been used, still in boxes, as usual, it's the old story, "one of these days I'll set it up" but would likely fill my garage when set up!!!

Oh, I've always been into trains. I currently model in Z scale (1:220 scale).
My HUGE 2 X 3' layout It weighs about 6lbs
The locomotives are about 3" long and are like jewelry. They aren't cheap (about $150 and up) but they run amazing. The freight cars have automatic uncouplers so you can do switching operations etc. One day I'd like to do a shelf layout. For now this layout works fine. I can slide it under a bed when not in use.
