Ok, I am no expert but I work with someone who is. I will try to remember to ask him tomorrow.

I've set up a couple of my own diffs with pretty good luck but I hesitate to give advice on them!

Working for my brother at the gas station he owned when I was 16. Put the guts back in the Ranchero diff like he asked me to. He went for a road test and came back blazing mad at me. Expensive lesson. I never put gear oil in.....

Knda like when I was starting out as a mechanic, the other young guy I worked with put a clutch disc on inside out , the shop owner took it for a drive ,, horrible chatter !!! a few questions and the tranny was coming back out!! the other young guy went on to be a machinist...enough of this mechanical stuff !!

A friend and myself helped another friend put a 396 4 speed in a 66 Camino. We put the disc in backwards too. It's pretty noisy when you do that and depress the clutch pedal with the engine running.

Yet ANOTHER lesson learned.....
