Travis, i do not have a hood for you but i do have some advise. Make sure it is a hood for a Canadian Pontiac and not the longer American Pontiac. They look alike but the hood you need is shorter. Also these 57 hoods are very prone to rust in the front corners. Both the left and right front corners because they way the inner and outer hood skins meet is a haven for water collection. There are many poor repairs of these corners as well. Western Canada is about the only place you will find 57 Canadian Pontiac hoods. B.C., ALBERTA, Sask. and Manitoba. Because a lot of these cars were sold out there and in those early years they did not salt the roads like other parts of Canada. I know Ontario would be one of the worst places. Even then the salt was heavy on our roads. Good luck with your search mate. George.

1957 CP hoods are about 5" shorter than U.S. hoods.

It seems to me that there was a hood listed in the pre-1958 forum a few months ago. Do some research and you'll find one.

Don't waste your time guys.

BigBlock was supposed to buy one hood from me; he made me crate it for shipping and when it was time to pay, I never heard from him again.

So if anyone needs a hood, it is still for sale...

Steve that is good to know. It is a  real piss off when people can not keep their word because their word means nothing. It is good that you shared your experience with the rest of us. I hope the next guy that wants your hood has more class. Cheers. George.

Welcome

and on a side note:

Your car is a SEDAN delivery

not a PANEL delivery

A panel would emply a truck body
a sedan delivery would be based on a car body.

That sedan delivery looks like it might have some ontario rust in it. Roblins had a few 57' pontiacs in the yard, but they were all pretty rough. One did have a decent hood on it though.

Man, I still want a 57' pontiac 2 dr wagon or sedan delivery.

Big Block hasn't been on here since July 2010.

Hi,
I am in Australia and recently purchased a 1957 canadian built Pontiac Cheiftain.  This car needs a lot of work.  I am looking for all the frontend sheet metal and a trunk lid.  Would you be interested in selling your hood to me?  I have a place in California who will ship it to me in Australia.  Would you be able to get it to there(I would of course pay for freight to California from where you are, depending on how far away you are)  However if it is too much(distance/freight) I will keep looking around. Thanks Jess

I do have a couple.  Everyone who looks at it, just smile and say good luck.  My husband has a 1966 pontiac parisienne. He has just finished restoring it, with only the final lace panelling of metallic blue to go on the roof. The photo of the 66 is before restorations began.  We have replaced the rear quarter due to the previous owner having a crash and not fixing it properly.  Just filling it with bog basically.

Jessica, your husband's '66 is a beauty! Looks like a different car than we usually see with the wide-whites & those style hubcaps! Nice!
Your '57 is a jewel in the rough.
I keep bumping-up your post to see if some the '57 Poncho fanatics can help you out.
You should post a thread and pics in the "Welcome Aboard" section. Introduce yourself.
Also post in the Canadian Cars/Parts Wanted section.

... Darryl.

Darryl,
We have been in touch with a guy in Beaumont, Alberta who is sourcing us some parts. It's just the shipping that is the killer..
Will post some up to date pics of the '66 once she is completed. In the next month or so.
Thanks for your assistance.
Jess
