Got up early today. Drove Halfbreed to the All Pontiac Street Show in Puyallup, Wa. Rain started after I "speed shined" it. Rained the whole day and a cool 54 degrees. Rain stopped for the drive home. My daughter who never misses a Father's Day with Dad said it was just too wet for her. The wife wasn't up to the weather. Even Gucci the dog said it was too cold and wet. I get home tired, wet, cold, and miserable. Cacelled the planned dinner out . No visit from the daughter. Ate a bowl of bad chili. This is the worst Father's Day in twenty years. I going to bed.
Had a great Father's day weekend. Spent yesterday morning fishing on the Winnipeg River with my buddy and my 6 year old daughter, caught quite a few, only a couple of keepers though. Then stopped in at my Dad's on the way home for a BBQ rib dinner. All in all a pretty good day.
It was a very good first father's day for me. Saturday had my dad over. Picked him up and took him home in the Trans Am...nice. Yesterday went to see my wife's dad who had to stay with his mom, he and his siblings take turns looking after her at her place on weekends. We took two cars, my wife has had problems with overheating, so she drove hers, which is fine on the hwy and i brought the little guy with me in the Trans Am, his first ride in the car. Father in law helped me change the thermostat in my wife's car. That didn't fix the overheating problem but he kept the car and got it fixed this morning. He definately knows his stuff, i try to learn as much as i can when he's working on things. Got a homemade gift from my wife and the little guy which was awesome, plus my wife gave me a certificate for us to get a family portrait done. I tried to get Felix to help with the yard work, but since he can't stand up he couldn't very well cut the grass or use the weed whacker so daddy took care of that this morning before work. Being my first year celebrating as a dad it was very cool!
