Hey guys,heres the latest addition to the herd.Its 100% complete a bit rough in spots but not bad for a car sitting on the grass for 10 years.I saw the add on craigslist,it had no pics just a short line but being a 58 pontiac they dont come up often especially at $500.So I took the drive out to Abbotsford for a look.It s all there,and has the original 6 cyl standard,the owner said it ran about 2 years ago so maybe ill even get it running.One rare item I spotted was the wonderbar radio,dont think ive ever seen one in a 58 pontiac before,and a pair of fender skirts,probably aftermarket but still there.Not sure on what will be the fate of this beast,probably a parts car as Im trying to get a 58 2dr sedan off a freind of mine and it needs some parts that this one can help with,well another one saved from the scrap yard.
Im not sure if the colour combo is original,theres too much green slime to get a good look,but im going to where the car is stored this weedend so ill get the numbers and post them here.
Heres some other canadian pontiacs this same owner had sitting there,5 in all,and all 69s.One of the cars he said has a 427 from factory,I didnt get the chance to get a look at any of them I was in a hurry and was going to go back and take a closer look but he moved before i could get back there so I dont have any tags numbers to show,my appologies to the numbers guys,should have been the first thing on my mind,must be getting old.
The cars are being stored somewhere in the lower mainland,I dont know where,but the owner is moving to vancouver island and wants to take them over there,maybe the guys on the island can track him down,he has a few other cars too,a 56 buick special 2drht,and a couple of 54 mercs,so im sure hell turn up somewhere.
Whats with all them 69's having the black "beaks"?

That's what happens after a long time exposed to the sun. The "endura" breaks down and the paint flakes off. That's why good ones sell for $350 and up on Ebay.

ok ive got the cowl tag numbers on the 58, style 7149 body no. 718593 trim 812 paint 2014 I checked the car over and it is the original colour sort of a brownish gold with white insert
Certainly isn't a colour combo you'd expect to see!
I imagine back then you could probably order just about any combo you wanted, even if it wasn't what most people would choose. Apparently there was at least one Mopar running around in the sixties that was green with red interior from the factory!
I've also heard stories where whomever ordered dealer stock checked off the wrong box on the order sheet and were surprised to see what arrived on the truck....
WOW ! Thats a great find. What are you doing with the car ? If you are parting any of it out, I would definatly be interested in some of the chrome trim pieces on the front end.
Love the Chevy C50 or C60 in the background behind the '69 2+2. Started my commercial driving career in one of those. Power steering and AM radio - I was in tall cotton, as we say here, in the South.
Hey Mike,nice project you have.I might be able to help you out with some parts as the car in the pictures here is being parted out,it was really rusty underneath needing almost everything so decided to part it out.Let me know what parts you need and Ill see what I can do.
