Not if it's like mine. I've tried the little one I have and it won't help at all. The nut needs to be glowing red.

Propane takes a long time. Spend the $$ and go buy a turbo torch. Any plumbing supplier will carry them. I'd get a little bottle of acytlene though, with a turbo, serious bolt*&^%er.

If you're still looking for a torch check this one out.

I saw an article in the Toronto Star and it got excellent results. It doesn't use propane but it uses "Max Power Propylene fuel, which is 20 percent hotter and faster than propane fuel. "

The neat feature is that the tank of fuel just goes on with a 1/4 turn and is of a stubby design so it is easy to get into tight spaces.

I checked one out at Home Depot and found the price to be $99.00, but I am planning a trip to the US of A and will be looking for a better price there.

It is one of those must have tools that you don't use too often, but if it is available you will find an number of uses for it.

Extra hot flame can be used to braze materials together.
