oh you youngsters, no respect for the technology that came before i-f***ing-pods, yes that 45rpm celluloid disc player was THE hot setup in days long gone by ... before 8-track took over, eh? biggrin

I like the beautiful black 66. Looks like 427 numerals on the fender. Carl?

I've seen the black 66 iat the Radium car show....Very nice car, can't tell you if its original or not. A buddy sent me a pic of the purple wagon and told me it was for sale. He didn't get a price though

Chrysler called it the "HiWay Hi Fi". It used different records and turned much slower than 45rpms. It actually worked quite well. They are worth a few bucks now!

Yes, I think I talked about it after Radium car show and figured it was a 427 car.

Never seen one. What stopped them from skipping confuse I remember cramming part of my smokes package  into the side of the 8 track so it would play

I would never have believed that these would work, if I had not heard my Dad's cruising stories from the sixties....Somewhere in my collection of stuff I have a Rod and Custom review of one of these record players...I'll scan and post if I can find it.

There was a different mechanism that held the needle down against the record. From what I've heard it was hard on both the stylus and the record.
