And I've heard the hobby car industry is dying, I don't believe it for a minute. As we see on here there continues to be cars coming out of the woodwork.
There was a good showing tonight. I caught up with Earl and saw a few CP members including Unburt and Morepower. Some photos for your enjoyment:
Cool Flathead powered rat rod:
There was quite a mix of cars. This photo give you an idea of the mix:
Cool powerplant in this 300K
This was my favorite tonight- a 64 Ford Custom 2 door post 390 4 speed. Odometer read 15000 miles and it could be original as the mint interior still had that old car smell.
This 64 Studebaker Daytona convertible was built in Hamilton and is one of only about 222 made.
The cool thing about that Skylark is the owner drives it all over the place. I saw that car for the first time in the late 1980's and it was restoration fresh. Now there is a slight bit of road rash on the fender lips. Kudos to the owner for enjoying this rare piece of iron!
Great pics Todd! Great turnout too! As far as the '64 Studebaker Daytona convertible goes; there were 286 produced in Hamilton Ontario and 417 produced in South Bend Indiana for a total of 703 Very rare cars indeed! There's one for sale on Kijij out of Peterborough as I write this. I've always had a love of old Studebakers. When I was 4 years old, we used to go out and pick up all the hen's eggs out of one that was abandoned in my grandfather's field. It was a 2-door, yellow with a brown interior and no floor boards, so the hen's nested on the hay beneath it. Ahhh yes, summertime memories of childhood! LOL! Absolutely LOVED that '53 Skylark as well as the '64 Ford 2-door post with the 390-4-gear in her! Of course a car like that in our day woulda been known as a "sleeper" eh fellas? I'll have to make my way to London one day for a cruise night somewhere for sure!
In the latter '70's, there was a fella in St. Ratford that owned a '69 white with a black top and black interior, Pontiac 2+2 and he also owned a yellow AAR Cuda. IT was one of the most beautiful cars I'd ever seen! Last I heard of him years ago was that he got married and moved to Granton. I'm wondering if perhaps this Cuda may be his as it's the identical colour. Do you have anymore pics of it to post by chance Todd? I'd really like to see a side shot of the car if you got one.
hope London is a nice town, just got word my brother in laws van broke down there they drove down to give a friend a ride and the van broke down and the guy didnt offer them a place to stay! nice

It's friendly for the most part. Like most cities there are some bad apples. Who is doing the repairs? Had I known he could have stayed here. We are only 30 minutes away.
