Cross Canada antique vehicle tour starting from St. John's NL tomorrow

Our car club hosted a meet and greet today for a coast to coast tour getting underway tomorrow. There were a variety of different cars there, including a few Pontiacs. Almost all were equipped to tow small trailers. I didn't have a camera, but some Pontiacs of note were a 67 Grande Parisienne coupe that sounded big block; a 66 Custom Sport with a Grande taillight panel; a 69 Bonneville ambulance outfitted as one; a 66 Pontiac Executive 4 dr ht; and a 66 or 7 GTO.

Plus a beautiful 61 Impala SS (I didn't like the continental kit but otherwise a really nice car), and a 66 Dodge Polara wagon that looked heavy duty. Also a few nice 50s Fords and Merc and several Thunderbirds.

Cars had plates from BC, Alberta, Ontario to name a few provinces. Watch out for the tour when it's in your neighbourhood.

The president of our local club "The Alberta Iron Indians" is participating in the tour in his red 67 Grande Parisienne coupe (small block) and Bowler trailer.  He's been preparing for this journey for the past couple years, and installed a 700R4 tranny and airbag suspension.  He left Calgary a few weeks ago and was taking his time heading east.

There should be a red 67 Grande that belongs to the President of the Alberta Iron Indians. Nice original car, but it does have a set of air bags from one of my parts cars and one of my wheels as a spare. If you see it on the way say hi to Warren.

WOW, that's a lot of cars touring together. I would imagine it would be a quite difficult to stay all together, must have stopping points all picked out before starting the day. Would be neat to be part of when they get out West. Or should I say to meet up with them when they get out here, As I can't be part of it. LOL.

That's the car. Sounded healthy, like a big block. Real nice. He stopped to let my daughter take a pic on her cell phone.

IF IT WORKS OUT I MAY TAKE A CRUISE  AND MEET A FEW OF THE GUYS.
ONLY ABOUT A 1/2 HOUR AWAY. AND YES I WILL TAKE A CAMERA.

Two of the guys from my car club {Country Car Club] are in that tour. Joe was planing on taking a 59 "FORD" rescue truck .but didn't get it done so he pulled out one of his Poncho's & house trailer[think he took blue 66 Parrisiene Big Block 396] other member is Barry, in 72 Chevy red 1/2ton 400 big block, pulling 5th. whl. trailer. Both these members did the tour in 2000 but wth different vehicles then, can't imagine the fuel mi. either one of them will be getting, but heard the truck took $750 in gas from Little Brittain Ont. to somewhere in New Brunswick on the way to Newfie!!!! I think that might have been Joe's pontiac with the G/P tail light panel you saw down there????

I know Joe from Cannington, only 5 minutes from me. I'll try to meet up with them in the park on the 29th.

One guy form BC had to leave his Cadillac behind. The engine was knocking badly. Fotunately for him there was a 69 Impala Custom coupe, original 427 car that was for sale at a good price, so he bought it. And that's what he's driving back in.
