Well after a little help with door panels from my friend Ken....heres what the interior looks like now...a Lot better too me!! What do you guys think?

Yes..I'm going to paint the lower dash black and change the upper Pad to black as well!

My very first thoughts were EXACTLY the SAME as Dave's: """YIKES!""" One of those, what were they thinking? Is the car from Mexico by chance? LOL! The transformation is stunning to say the least! Upped the car's value substantially I'd say with the new interior. Fabulous job! I'm surprised your neighbours didn't complain about all the NOISE coming out of your garage at night given that other interior was pretty LOUD! LOL!

Right on Jim those things cleaned up real nice!  I had sent him those off my three hill parts 66 GP(in the avatar picture)  in exchange for a (kind of rusty BUT NICE) 396 air cleaner. (from a 67 I think)


That car has a really nice texture and a very classy look to it now! He's pretty fast!  I haven't even sandblasted the airleaner yet.

Those arn't covers...someone actually put that fabric on the seats...they did a good job, but ugly said they were ugly...The seats in there now are from one of my other cars,as well as the carpet. And I painted the rear arm rests black and the rear filler panels black, between the seat and the quarter. What a huge difference!!...I don't know were the previous owner got that fabric....must have been a Mexican second hand end of the roll or something!!

The door panels are fom Ken's 3 hills Parts Car. They cleaned up really nice did't have to paint them at all. Could not use the white arm rests though, they were a little too rough, so I used the black ones...seem to look ok?

I'm going to paint the headliner...It worked really good on the arm rests..I havent done the sun shades yet..wana get the ceiling painted first.

That front seat brings back memories of my 66 Grande Parisienne automatic car. It's identical. That is hands down, my most favourite seat style and pattern of all time. I haven't had that car for 20 years now and I miss that seat still.

Why do you really miss that back seat Carl?wink

I like the old T-bird "barrell-end" seats. I had a '67 T-bird seat set up in my parents basement.

I put that in actually. It wasn't a factory air car. It was originally 283, glide, power brakes, no power steering!

I added 427, air, tilt, tach, gauges, power steering, windows, seat, antenna, trunk, reclining pass seat, am/fm, reverb, tinted glass, 12 bolt posi, TH400, disc brakes, trunk light and so on and so on...........

Sadly, I lost track of the car. I sold it in about 89-90 and knew of it about 45 miles away for a few years but then it vanished. I had it repainted the original colour, plum mist I think it was called, before I sold it.

Carl put his heart and soul into making it the best equipped Pontiac that ever could have been built in 66! I can only imagine how much work that took especailly the AC, although with the well stocked boneyards of the time it must have been fairly easy to find the pieces at least eh?

Yes, that was a few years of constant junkyarding but it was worth it! I forgot to mention it later had headrests and I never did get the power vent window setup installed in that car.

Those were the days. Walk into a North Dakota wrecking yard and pull the tach out of a 66 2+2 for 20 bucks.

Mississipi wrecking yard, am/fm, 25 bucks.

Right in Winnipeg, tilt column, 300 bucks. Yeah, I know, lotsa money for a tilt but it came in a running 66 Grande Parisienne with a 396 and Turbo 400!

Lots of the A/C stuff (underhood parts) came from a 67 Parisienne 4 door hardtop that was written off.  283 powerglide, factory air, not even tinted glass in the car although many people argue it was standard equipment on an air car.

You guys are right, I really need to make an effort to find that car. I know a couple of people in the area where it went who may be able to help me find it.
