The paint looks okay, but I don't know about those body patches!

If you are going to all that effort, why not spend about 75 dollars for some real automotive single stage paint. automotive paint suppliers have cheap automotive paint.
then go to princess auto and buy a cheap 25 dollar HVLP spray gun...they work great.

Good advice. The money spent will be well worth the look of the finished job
The one on the right with the top mounted plastic cup is what you want to use.
Set is at a fairly wide fan spray width and regulate the air pressure at the gun to about 28 PSI.
You will get good results. use automotive paint!
Cheap automotive paint that works OK is Nason, or western paint from canadian tire. Emphasis on the CHEAP over quality, but it yeilds good lasting results for the money.
Certainly ALOT better than rolled on housepaint, and for the same basic costs and effort.

now im gonna have to think of a way to make a booth to protect mine and my neighbours they already dislike me for the noise, clouds of smoke, smell of gas, and many other things lol its a good thing i don't plan on getting another car at this house
If you look on you tube you will see that this guy is famous for his rustoleum paint jobs. I think the spray etc.. defeats the entire purpose of the $50 paint job and this guy's fun.
I have one of those Princess Auto HVLP turbine systems. I'm itching to try it on something. Someone local should buy Kens $1500 Pontiac and we'll paint 'er up! A few coats of single stage and some wet sanding and polishing and you'll be good to go.
i do remember helping a friend paint a car in high school with a filter queen vacuum. it came with an attachment for spraying paint. didn't do a good job the car had little globs of paint all over it.
i know this thread is old but i was looking for a way to paint my car with rattle cans and i found this last night before i posted about painting my car it looks decent for the price
hey Jonathan, my cars painted entirely with tremclad spray paint, matte black and spring green for the top. When it was first done nobody believed me it was spray bombed but after a little while it does start looking kinda crappy. I would spray it with a one stage paint for sure, will look better longer, and wont scratch as easily(mine will show marks if I rub my calloused hands on it) I am going to spray mine for sure this summer again with the one stage, hopefully if i can find a suede black it will look real nice.
