1965 beaumont L79 for sale

so I am driving home the other day in my 1967 acadian SD and I stop for a couple things at the near by food store.. long story short a guy sees my car and we get to talking ...bla bla bla... he mentions he has a 1965 beaumont in his garage that was originally his dads car, bought new and that it has a 327 in it. I ask about taking a look, he invited me over last night and its the real deal L79 matching numbers car. my question is because I am really an acadian nut,,,what is the value??? it has the original paint but is faded, solid body, very little to no rust, good interior, mint frame, runs nice as he did tune ups,all original motor. last on the road in 1995, he wants $15,000 and I am really considering it, would be a nice package with my other car! lets hear your thoughts???

If you pass on it, I will give you a finders fee for the first crack at it.

Run back and buy the car. If you don't want it and 70 SS doesn't take it then I will.

These are super rare and a definite candidate for a restoration. IMHO!!!

I agree- 15k for a nearly rust free L79 is a definite bargain. Is it a 4 speed car?

any decent 65 SD Beaumont with a 4-speed should be worth $15k let alone an L79 purchased from an original family still sporting its original drivetrain !

All you have to do is look at the feature car of the month and realize how great a deal $15k is! WoW! As previously mentioned, I look forward to the pictures!!!

Excellent job man!!!!!!!!!
that makes another really rare find and it's in Canada still.. gotta be less than 10 or so still around.
I met a guy in Edmonton that has a 65 chevelle 2 dr HT (not SS) that is a factory L-79.. how rare is that?

Good for you on the discovery.. I wish I'd found that instead of the basket case I paid too much for.

photos asap

as kelico said it is amazing this is still here in canada.I have always been an upfront honest person, and what I am about to say my tick some folks off but here I go. In my opinion these acadians and beaumonts belong in canada! they were made here and sold here! if they were meant to be in any other country they would have made them and sold them there! it is a shame that every year more slip away out of canada for future collectors here, due to the ol mighty buck and what foolks in other countrys are willing to pay. one day people will raelize this! I will inform you folks of one thing I know and the canadian gov. is getting stricker on. the Gov. has started realizing that canadian heritage needs to be protected and some years ago passed a law that protects against exporting any item of canada that is found to be historically significant to this country!!! Its true look into it yourself. I have known one guy that was charged and the item returned to canada after taking it to the united states. he even had an export permit from export canada! RCMP didnt care, as the law over rides any permits. the guy lost the item (dont want to say what it was but it did have a motor, we will leave it at that) not to mention being charged and all the money he paid for it. so with that said any one of these acadians and beaumonts fall into that catagory and as time goes on I believe alot of folks down south are going to be upset when there cars are ordered back to canada. I dont say this to scare anyone, just the facts. anyway with that said because money is not an issue with me, I will buy and collect as many of these cars I can and keep them where they belong in canada!!!!

That's a tough topic and it could start a flame war on here as we have some really great U.S members that have done fantastic restorations on these cars. You have a good point about saving our heritage, however if it came down to a car being crushed or left to rot vs it going to another country to be lovingly restored, I'd vote for the latter. Being also a fan of "finned" 57-61 Chrysler products I see many of these cars going to Europe recieving money-is-no-object restorations (including 4 doors - which many folks here in North America only regard as parts cars). My 59 Dodge went to Austria where it is getting a restoration to museum standards, a resto that there's no way I could have performed. This car will be preserved for generations to enjoy. That's better than it being turned into a tuna can.
