Espessially when the city sponsors the event, then try to give you tickets for anything they can. They'll probly have an inspection station at the show,LOL.
I heard you were stopped with the wagon... any fallout?
The one time I drove my Nova this year I came face to face with the traffic car right at the end of my backlane !!! Good think he was otherwise occupied.

I have only gone to one Sunday night show this year. The past 2 years I went every chance I had but not this year. I have put on 1200 mile on the wagon this year. But not around the city I get the F out of Dodge as quick as I can. I was talking to Dale from Tavern at the track and he said they are down 150 to 200 a night. THANKS MPI ,WPD and all the tuner fools that brought this on.

Insiders say this is MPIC driven... period. They are apparently paying the required OT for the Sunday night patrols. Nice use of our insurance dollars.
Don't blame tuners they're just car guys (and gals) like the rest of us. Same with the rat rod crowd.
Bottom line is cars have to safety... I need to make a few minor alterations to comply.

I was in Brandon for 3 days and I only see 2 guys drive like complete fools and both were tuners. Swerving in and out of traffic and cutting cars off. And there must of been 1000 classics there. Sure some made a little noise but only for a few feet nothing that would put other peoples life in danger.

Ya ,I got pulled over last year at a safety check stop. They gave me the gears cause I told the cop the only reason he pulled me over was to be a prick.Just stating the blatently obvious....
Not much has changed. Back in the 70's and 80's got pulled over for suspention modifications, exhaust not up to specs, no tail pipes, to loud of mufflers , tires to wide. Then they would send you to a safety inspection station. They use to have one in the cross roads shopping centre parking lot back then. Got home from work one day in my 68 chevelle with lunch kit in hand and the cops were waiting in front of my house to harass me and give me a warning for racing. I was just coming home from work causing no probblems. But back then you did not say to much or you got a ride to the floodway and kicked around and a long walk back. This from experiance.
I used to get pulled every time I went out in my 69 camaro. Had the up to date inspection sticker in the windshield, didn't matter. (remember tis is in the late 80's!) So it;s not a recent thing that the minnowdicks target hot cars. I'm all for yanking over some idiot driving like the streets are his own indy track, but not someone out for a cruise. I got pulled on the t-can in that old camaro one afternoon, and did I get out yelling at the cop! (4:10 gears, no way speeding on the highway!!) He say's cool down son, I just wanted to check out your car, as he had a 340 swinger. You never know.( we met up to pop clutches one night ) Just cool down, as long as you are legal, they can't touch you. Kill 'em with kindness I say.
I know what you are talking about Player but they have declared all out war on classic in Winnipeg this year. Every Sunday night they set up on one of the main streets and pull every one in. They do a Inspection on the cars and they are not nice. Two weeks ago the pulled 103 cars over if I remember correctly. They issued 117 tickets and towed 6 cars. There was only 3 cars that pasted and did not get ticketed

Just caught wind that they are ticketing for LED tailights.... I just put in a set of spaghetti Eng. LED's which work fanastic. They are brighter, illuminate the entire lens area and unlike the original Nova tailights they don't lose ground and quit working every couple days.
Oh well.... anyone have a straight six some f70-14 bias tires and some front and rear drum brakes to put my car back to MPIC safe mode. Maybe some T3 headlights too ?? and some frost shields.
On a brighter note (HA) we were out last night and didn't see any of Wpg's finest. Not too many cruisers out either for such a nice night.
