I think I found it. 455 tri power 4sp

I think my quest is over. I didnt get the Beaumont after all. After many conversations with the owner, we have an agreement, and I will be leaving for Ontario soon(hopefully this weekend) to inspect. It is a show quality project, that is certified and driving. The chrome is still off as it needs a pro polish.  A California car brought to Canada a few years ago and restored to its current condition. Some of you may have seen this car advertised recently. I'd love to hear any and all comments. It began life as a Lemans without GTO, and now has complete GTO 'package'.  Maybe not for a purist, but yes for me. Not much left to do.   I may have to sell my 67 Grande Parisienne, or build another garage quick. I will likely list it for sale real soon, and will accept offers.

Thank you to all the CP members with offers, and if this deal falls through, I'll be back!

Thanks Mike....It will be nice to work with new/restored parts. My last job was a survivor ,and had crud in places I never even thought of. I'm hoping to find a way to keep the 67, but am excited to see this 65 in person.

Thanks Rick, if your avatar is your car its sweeet! I probably would not clone mine if it came as a lemans, but all the conversion parts come with it and are new or nos, so I'm cool with it. I'll just keep hoping everything is as descibed!

Very nice looking car. I'm really biased with the 455 and orange paint biggrinbiggrinbiggrin
Hope you don't have to sell your other ride. That avatar is the best on the site.

Hey Kim,  thanks for the compliments. It looks like you have reached the pinnacle of muscle cars....just my opinion. I hope to want nothing after this purchase, but I went through this with motorcycles, and there always seems to be a dream in the works. For now, I am going to ride this wave and enjoy it. My 67 is still my baby, I put a lot of sweat equity into it, and I dont really expect it to sell, even though I will try, and I will be very reasonable with the price, there isnt a lot of luxury money in my neck of the woods, and I do drive it daily.  As long as I appear to be selling it, the wife will be happy and forget all about it. If I do get an interested buyer, it will be sold, as I cant properly store it, and I cant see paying for storage. Both cars do fit in my 20x20 grarage, but the GP is 19 1/2" feet long  I can forsee problems keeping both in there, they will likely both spend the winter in there. (I'll probably be corrected on that one) Tks again

P.S.  - if you followed my posts, you'll notice that I change my mind as often as a woman....well not that bad, but close.

Tom

'65 LeMans and GTO's are among my personal favourites, a great body style!

I'm always looking for another toy. My wife keeps me grounded and says one goes before another comes in. That's why I'm selling my yellow GTO to make roombiggrinbiggrin

Hey Carl,

No need to apologize, love all comments. I did consider that car, it appears to be in immaculate condition and priced for a buyer. The drawback for me is the appeal to me drops off after 1967, and I just realized why. I knew there was something about the rear 'look'. It is the transition from trunk to rear window, it is way less pronounced after 67 in many models. Not news to most here I bet.  I much prefer the rear windows that are near vertical. Just a personal taste that came later in life. I bet you'd smile if you took her for a spin. Not Canadian, but.........

Its a gem, I'd be showing that off!   I may have to keep my 67 so they'll let me stay.

Sorry to steal this thread but I really think we need to see more of Rick's 64 whether it is Canadian or not. I just love the "Canadian Pontiac" engine in it! I didn't expect that at all.

Come on Rick, you've been holding out on us. We'd love to see all the resto pics and the full story on your great ride. After all, your car is the begininng of the muscle car era and it is a Pontiac and it is in Canada.

I bet I'm not the only guy who would love to read about your car in the members rides Rick!
