I'll be in the Winnipeg Area on Saturday night..what's to do?

Hi guys,

I'm flying to Winnipeg on Saturday afternoon for business and I am looking for suggestions on what to do in the evening.

Any classic cars gathering?
Any nightlife must-see?

I'm flying back on Sunday morning, so I'm not even sure I'll sleep... :)

I really have no clue how my evening is gonna pan out. I need to drive down to Winkler (about 1h30 south of winnipeg) and I think I should be back in winnipeg around 21:00-21:30

As I said, I didn't book any hotel room as I'm thinking I'll just sleep at the airport

If you're not living too far from the Airport and it's not too late, I might take you up on your offer.

As I thought, there is really nothing much to do in Winnipeg...

Fortunately, I just learned there is a Solid Gold Club on the same street as the airport, so I'm all-set for the night ;) lol

Wow if lucky enough to have a spare night in Winnipeg, personally I'd be skipping the peelers and would try to take in some of the famous W'peg music scene!.
Randy Bachman, Neil Young, Lenny Breau and so many others were all W'peg lads...so get dropped off downtown at Portage and Main, open your ears and find the cold beers!.

There is the Legend car club airport drags in Altona on the 14th and 15th. They have it once a year. Is a 1/8th mile event. Just around the corner from Winkler.

 I got the info out of the MAAC 2010 events guide. It must be wrong. I would think a poster of the event would be more correct.  O well I guess its to the club for 57Pontiac.

I know Altona has changed dates in the past with not a lot of warning. It's pretty much a local event so not such a big deal.

If you've never gone, you're missing out. Tons of fun and most of the guys know each other so lots of good natured smack talking and put up or shut up type of stuff!!!
