These 64-5 two dr wagons are so unique; I saw one in Barrie once, as well as the shell of one in a now defunct Maine junkyard (most of the cars were crushed - don't know if the Chevelle was saved).

My buddy bought one off Ebay, for his 60 nomad wagon, a couple years ago.  He won't tell me what he paid though...I'm thinking it was a lot.

Nice car.  About 3 years ago while in California in March, we had dinner one night in downtown Huntington Beach (Surf City USA).  There were signs up indicating Main Street would be closed Sunday morning, which we presumed was a St. Patrick's day parade.  We drove by, and it was closed for a car show.  Being Surf City USA, I've never seen so many station wagons at a car show, many with surfboards in the back.  There were a number of the 2 door Chevelle wagons there.

One of my customers just told me his friend recently bought one of these in the interior of B.C., I haven't seen it yet but if I do I'll post Pictures. Apparently the guy was looking for a Camino and ran into the wagon and said " Ya I think I like that, I'll take it "...... Lucky bugger!!

This particular car is likely the most well known and documented '64 Chevelle two door wagon out there in the free world. I am actually surprised to see it on eBay. It is the subject of a great article in the September 2006 issue of Hemmings Classic Car which I ordered specifically from Hemmings for that article. The owner, Allen Petrosky, went to heroic lengths to find the actual special order 283/4 speed 2 door wagon that his parents bought new and later sold, and had a huge dollar restoration done on it.
These two door Chevelle wagons have a huge following, their own website "rarewagon.com" and there is a terrific dvd available on them (which I have). They also rust like all getout, and are as expensive as heck if you can find one. But they look sooooo great!

I really like these too and believe this is probably the cleanest original example left!.
Too bad there was no factory Beaumont versions of these 2-Dr. Wagoons..

The guy's ad is somewhat misleading w/ respect to this 283 being the highest HP motor available as maybe this was the best you could get when this car was ordered but late in the year the L74 327/300 was available for the '64 A-Body cars..

Clippinger Chev was THE performance dealer of the day and I believe next door to Traco engines!.
This dealership delivered many high performance cars including L88 Vettes that were racing cars from day one also many Copo and other performance street cars too..
Google around as I've seen many cool pics from there w/ James Garner and others hanging around Clippinger and Traco..

Also and as I mentioned in the post here a few weeks ago and talking the '65 2-Dr. Wagons now, years ago I heard at least one of the '65 2-Dr. Wagons built for the US Post Office was an L79 car!.

I agree with Ghost Post Pete that it would have been nice to had a Beaumont version of the Chevelle two door wagon. There is one member of the CP forum who is building one.

Beauty! Never seen one before and my first thought at seeing the picture was "a Chevelle Nomad!" from the b-pillar and side rear windows.

Over-restored IMHO therefore priced 2X in today's market.
