Any Ford service guys here? (Chader?)

Can someone tell me if this is an original (as in the one installed on the assembly line?) oil filter for a 2010 Edge?

Someone I know has a question regarding a vehicle that may have gone 30,000 kms + without an oil change if so and we'd like to prove it. We suspect it may be original because it has no part number on it. This is all the labeling there is and I've never seen an off the shelf filter without a number.

Thanks

Did you try with Ford Dealer mechanics?
I am pretty sure my Crown Vic had one like that.

for sure that is an original(from the assembly line) oil filter. What goes through peoples head?
What is the problem with the car, or should I ask?
It is funny because i have heard that BMW has an engine that does not need servicing, and I just can't get that to sink in!

I would say the easiest way to prove it would be to look at a brand new Edge.

Sorry, I was away on vacation.

Nothing at all wrong with the engine. We just were changing in the oil, got the wrong filter first try. The tech brought me the filter because I insisted it had to have a part number on it and he handed me this. When I saw no # I said it had to be the assembly line filter.

Some people shouldn't be allowed to own vehicles!

We had a Buick regal (COP CAR) come in one day and when the plug was pulled the oil dripped out and made an ice cream cone, I couldn't believe it, not sure how many miles on it, but I had never seen this in 30 years of service industry. Car still ran fine and drove away. New oil of course.

This customer of yours Carl, must have been taught buy some of the old school farmers....

You know the ones.... Oil change meant taking oil out of the new truck and then putting it in the old farm truck. No need to change the filter....

I had a 65 Impala 4 door hardtop 283 that ran about a year or more on used oil. And I mean LOTS of used oil!!!

Under full throttle, the blowby was heavy enough that it billowed out in the gap between the hood and the fender!!!
