Nice frame fabbing! Trying to figuire out the rims. Looks like those old wire bucket spoke wheels without the buckets and painted black? Good job. Look forward to more pics
They are actually a Crager delux wheel with spider caps. They look just like the wire bucket wheels. Plain and simple. I would like to have put some wide white wall tires on them but my pocket book at the time didn't allow. A friend has a tire shop and owed me some cash so I got the low pros pictured.
Well add a little time to myself yesterday. From MII is now on. Bought a new 11" flywheel, clutch and pressure plate. Just got a spacer ring to adapt the truck bellhousing to the B&W tranny. Tranny is cleaned up and painted with the new Hurst shifter installed. Will try and mount the tranny to the motor in the next couple weeks and get it installed in the frame.
Well really haven't done alot to the old 50. I got the tranny installed with the new 11" pressure plate and clutch. Used the truck bellhousing with an adapter ring.Mostly all I have been doing is cutting and replacing rust!! Almost gave up but I can see the light. I ordered lower front quarter panels from BC. for around $ 200 a piece. They should be here in a week or so. Get them welded on and then drop the body back on the frame. Hopefully before Christmas. Big job!! The car should have been in the scrap pile but I'm determined to save her.
Well quarters came in so gonna try my first installation. Cut off the old and working on fitment of the new. Had to cut the lip off all along the bottom were it meets the rockers. Alot deeper bend then the Pontiac.
Well got the passenger one done around Christmas, went pretty good but used a little more bondo then I was hoping. I went on the Hamb and got a few pointers so now I'm ready for the Driver's. They say, to use a Zip disc to knock down the welds and grind as you go. Great advise, I tried that on the lip by the rockers and it helped alot!
I'm no expert on directional tires...or any other tires for that matter,( I still get confused about them) but are these tires not installed on the wrong sides of the car?

Fitz,
What do you mean when you say steering?
I put a new IFS suspension on the front.
I will most likely use a new column and banjo steering wheel.
That's the plan at the moment.
I got them from Collectors Auto Supply 1-800-414-4462 Peachland BC.
I've bought other parts from them before. Great to deal with, and prices are very good.
Welded up the rest of the trunk area and cut out the wheel wells. Made a master cylinder bracket to adapt to the original pedals. Working on installing the air system. This is a good work week for the Pontiac!!
