Been gone to long...

Sorryashamed we've been gone far to long. Between this forum and another, you folks have given us alot of places to check out. Sooo we have been busy trying to track down parts for Fannie..mostly those very rare, I think gone forever, quarter panels! We are pretty sure we've got our body guy lined up but he's asked that we try and find the 1/4's, I think we'll have to have them made. I was wondering if it's ok to ask...what would be the going hourly rate for a good autobody guy? Also anyone got any pictures of tail lights for our wagon. Sounds weird, but I haven't been able to find pictures of the back of the car. We are hoping to take out the motor and transmission this fall and redo it ourselves. And hopefully start the body work over the winter, we'll see how the $$$ hold out. Well I'm going to attach a few pics of the issues right now and maybe post a few pics as we go along.

Would a set of rust free rear fenders from a Chevelle wagon work?

I would think 68-69 Chevelle wagon or maybe even El camino sections might work.

Actually I was on their site a few days ago, they do have a wagon that might match up to mine. But it has a pretty big dent on the back by the tail light. Looks a little rusty too. You got me pretty excited...I thought you had a setbiggrin. Thanks for the suggestion.

It appears to me that the quarter panel skins for a 69 El Camino might work. They appear to be the right length behind the wheels. Might have to trim them at the front. As well the fuel door might not be quite right.

Hope this helps.

Try teamchevelle.com.They have a wagon section.Im sure someone knows exactly if the wagon and camino quarter are the same for 68 and 69.I used brand new 65 el camino quarters on my wagon and they are the same.

OMG your killing me here! That car is in sooo much better shape then mine! If I had the $$$ to bid on that and then transport it here(Nova Scotia) I'm not so sure I could cut it up. However it's not Canadian!  Looks like the motor was switched and also the transmission...it also has roof racks??? Should mine? I can't believe you found that car so fast...I've been looking in auto parts sites. Thanks for your help.

If I win it's staying...if my husband wins it's going...he has an Caprice that he would like to take the motor out of. Both motors/tranmissions are working well...he wants to get this motor out and redo seals...stuff...I think I'm winning :)
