check the fuses.
Do you have a service manual. If so it should have the wiring schematic. It will make tracing the circuit much easier.

Tail fuse for sure... When you turn on the park lamps, power goes through this fuse first the splits to the dash wire to the dimmer then to the lamps....

Check it for power with a test lamp at one side of the fust to be sure there is nothing from the headlamp switch wires to the tail fuse....

I had the same problem with my 67 Beaumont, no tail or stop lamps and no instrument lights, i thought they were on different circuits but when I checked my service manual the one fuse was listed for stop and tail lamps. When i checked my fuse it looked perfect but when i put my test light on it there was power only on 1 side so i pulled the fuse out it fell apart in my hands, put a new fuse in and so far no more problems.
If you need a wiring diagram let me know and I can help you with that.

i got a book but it doesn't have the wiring digrams in it must be the one i got at a swap meet.if you can email me that digram it sure would be a big help.

went out to garage checked all my fuses. i got power in all fuses excepted the fuse for instrument panel and lamps. i guess next step is to pull fuse box to see whats behind it.you can email the drawings to my email mfleury@bmts.com thanks-
