Paint Codes - Is it a Pontiac discussion

I saw the post discussion the Regina GM Plant:

There is discussion about paint codes and CP member "Laurentian" posted a link to DuPont's website.  At that site, they have the paint codes and chips for Chev, Buick, Olds Pontiac models through the years.  Here's one for 1966.
Dupont 1966 GM Color Chips

I never realized that Pontiac did not have an Aztec Bronze...  My Beaumont was originally Aztec  Bronze and based on the Beaumonts I've seen, it seems to have been a popular choice.

Just thought that it was interesting that Pontiac didn't have Aztec Bronze cars in 1966....

it would be nice to have the canadian codes before 1955! Never  seen them yet.

easy way to tell is from the late 30s to 1955 the first didgit is the last didgit of the year

example 354 is 1953

I show Aztec Bronze Metallic as a 66 GM colour.
It's Dupont stock no. DUM-2091 or DUM-2091H ( found 2 sources and they differ ever so slightly.
Should show paint code M on your data plate.

The names of the paint codes change from paint manufacturer to manufacturer. That's why I hate reading a magazine article stating they painted a car in blah blah blue when in the paint system you are using states it as bleh blat green blue. So don't feel bad about not having your color. Just go by the manufacture paint code and hope for a match.
