Hi everyone. Want to restore this 65 Beaumont but can't tell what type it was. It originally had a v-6 I believe but was converted to the 283. It is a convertible and the vin number is 573567058599.
Were they all considered a Sport Duluxe or was their a different trim line. Thanks if anyone could help sure would appreciate it!!!
Here's a breakout of your VIN 5 = year =1965 73567 = model = Beaumont Custom 6 cyl ( straight 6, not a v-6 ) convertible 058599 = consecutive production number
So its not a Sport Deluxe. If it was a Sport Deluxe then the 4th number would have been a 7 for a 6cyl or 8 for a v-8.
Please post the data that is on the plate mounted on the cowl under the hood. From it this group will be able to tell you the original exterior colour, the original interior colour, date of manufacture and options list. You might also consider getting the GM Canada vintage vehicle package.
Oh, and before everyone else chimes in - WE LOVE PICTURES!
Have more questions about these rare jems. In the meantime I have a link here to take you to some pictures I took the day she came into the states. I haven't done anything to her as of yet, but will be looking for some guidance.
ok, try this. As the 64 & 65 Acadian Beaumonts are cousins to the Chevrolet Chevelle, google 64 & 65 Chevelle. The Acadian Beaumont is generally a copy of the Chevelle, especially the way the chrome goes around the headlights.
Here's some Acadian Beaumont nose photo's for you: 65 on the left, 64 on the right. Notice how the chrome around the headlights is much more rounded on the 64.
