That leaves me almost speechless. It's one of those things you take for granted, never had a clue a person would even do that.

The cool thing from that height is that it clearly shows the earth is round!

I tried watching it but I lasted all of 15 seconds or so. I just can't handle heights, not even in videos.

I guess you wouldn't want to guzzle down a large Timmies before making that climb. I didn't see any washrooms up there!

People at work think I'm crazy and have no fear of heights but you would not catch me up there. That's just plain crazy.

That is insane! I had never even thought that anyone would ever have to go up one of those things to service it. Surprising they dont have parchutes for safety. They don't get paid enough for doing that work.

I actually know a guy who used to change the lights at the top of the CN Tower.  He's an electrician by trade and pulls in 100K +.  He does okay with the danger pay.

I think I could handle the height, but I couldnt trust the equipment.  If the winds picked up, and a guy wire or china made clasp let go, you'd have way too much time on the way down to regret your decision.  I have reverse bungeed before, but it was a once in a lifetime deal for me. $100k a year wouldnt be enough.

The climb to the the top of a 120ft drilling rig is enough for me. Heights don't usually bother me much but there isn't enough money on the planet to get me up that tower.

I'm glad my job finds me down on the ground in the studio. I hate even climbing up a ladder to check the eaves, and i'm in a single storey house! I hate heights more than a cat hates water! I saw an episode of Toughest Jobs i think it was a few years ago and the guy in that show had to climb from the ground i believe, no elevator. Took him hours to just go one way.
In my line of work you definately appreciate the work those acrobats do! Imagine if all you were doing was changing a light bulb up there.

Boy can I relate, Randy!

On a different note, I was sick at home one day this week so I tuned in and listened to you for a while. You had a call in contest and I was going to call just for fun but whatever it was for wouldn't have done me any good since I'm not local!!

You should have called Carl. It was for a $100 train ticket, well to qualify to win it anyway. We're a small private owned station so we can't afford the big bucks draws. Even though if you go to our website you can enter to win a home theatre package. I don't think there's anything about having to live in the area...
