Tailstock-Yoke question

Is the yoke of a drive shaft that goes into the input shaft any different from an automatic to a 4speed? I swapped a turbo 400 to a Super T10, it worked but curious if their is any difference? Length etc. I used the same driveshaft/yoke.,,,,
thanks :)

You were lucky.  The TH400 and the Super share the same oddball "larger diameter" yolk

The powerglides, th350s, all 3-speeds, and most 4-speeds all share the same smaller diameter yolk

The earlier glides and the crashbox 3-speeds have a course spline too.

Tom, I "think" the Turbo 400 & BW T10 use the same d/shaft yoke if memory serves me correctly??? Turbo 350 & power glide, interchange using a smaller one, & the really early P/glides & 3spd. sticks used a course splined all on there own????

Yes, the only thing that can trip you up is Muncie M22's have the big yoke as well as some of the 70 and up Muncie 4 speeds do too. Early Muncie's "small", later Muncies "big".

Have you ever seen the universal joint, that allows you  to run the big yoke, in the small shaft?
I used one on my 69  Nova, when I installed a 400 turbo...

The late Muncies (74?)also used the T400 splined yoke. Early cars had the PG style yoke.

Are you talking large diameter slip yoke or the bigger u joint?

I understood his question to be about the slip that goes into the output seal but maybe he meant the u joint itself.
