Undertakers Convention

Yes.  We actually have such things.  Well attended with many products of interest including the Camo and Harley Davidson (#1) caskets.  The big stars were the vintage coaches -- both 1962s, from Montana originally, unrestored, lived in heated garages, guy said they were 390s with 30,000 and 60,000 mi respectively.  Oh, and I got one of those short-legged tail light shots for 73SC.

Cool.....Lala are you an undertaker? My other half recently had her military career cut short due to injury and is considering an embalming apprenticeship.  I used to build custom caskets, and I think that is what sparked her interest. If you are in the biz, I bet you have some stories to tell.  I'd drive that Hearse!

Yes I am!  If your lady is interested I might be able to put her in touch with some good people on your coast.

My first ever speeding ticket was in a former funeral car that my landlord owned. 1963 Mercury Monterrey Breezeway, 390 engine. My vehicle was a 68 GMC that had lots of wind noise and rattles without going over the speed limit. I was doing 75 mph in the Merc, no noise at all except after awhile a siren behind me. Oops.

The coaches rock -- literally.  Smooth and silent.  Just don't want to get locked in the back.   Some of the older ones don't have escape locks, so you have to worm your way through a tiny opening into the front seat..that's if no one finds you first.

Neat. I still laugh when I think about the post someone made on here on how they want to go. They wanted to be cremated and have their ashes sucked through the carb of their car at WOT!
I love it!

Almost bought a 59 Pontiac hearse, years ago..... I knew where there was a 57 Poncho hearse, but it disappeared years ago as well. Also looked at a 61 Caddy that was for sale, but never bought it, it was all windows and was silver and a hearse has to be black...It was picked up by some band, I saw them cruisin around in it....This is all going back to the late 80's that I seen these

I came upon the pic in a random picture thread on another site a couple days after posting the Grampa Munster pic so saved/posted it here knowing Todd was onto these cars..

No worries.  It's amazing how many of these things pop up on the roads in summer.  Makes me wonder why someone outside of the biz would want such a thing.  Guess it's eye popping .... but I wouldn't go out with dude who drove one of those.  Ick.
