Body brackets

Bonjour!

The body brackets of my '57 are too rusted for making their job. Have I to manufacture it or can I find that new ?

Others will confirm but your underneath is like a 57 Chevy, as you know you can have all the parts you need.

I've already looked for these body brackets but I only find bumper or fender brackets... Do you know a website for that?

I was mistaken by body bracket, you need frame body mount...

It's not easier...going worst.

Can I have the chocolate box anyway?

I had to do mine on my Pontiac. A chevy 57 part car is your best bet to me, maybe a western car from arizona or something.

And for my chocolate box?

Fitz.

Bonjour André!

a little question more before the chocolates...
You said the underneath of the canadian pontiac is all chevy. Do you mean that the floor pans and the trunk panels are the same?
I find a website "luttys chevy warehouse" with all the panels and maybe the body brackets. Can you take a look on the attached pictures and tell me if these brackets (I told you earlier " in green " ) are  there?

Un grand merci

The 2 pictures show (to me) only the body mount, any frame.

There is here more knowleage than me in the 55 56 57 Canadian Pontiac, but I know them enough to tell you about chevy parts can be use into your car.

You can use Roland is Strasbourgh for ordering and shipping your part if you need help.

If you put your car on a lift with all the underneath picture in hand from a 57 chevy supplier, you will see a lot of it on your Pontiac.

For the frame body bracket, I think again you will have to do it yourself as I did...

....for my chocolate box, what should I have to do next??

Fitz.

It's difficult for me to feel the difference between body bracket, body mount, frame body bracket or frame body mount....

What it's showed in your picture is the body mount that bolt on the frame bracket. You need both to hold the body with the frame. They often look alike. If you look closely of my thread you will see some frame bracket in the frame resto section, and later you will see body mount fabrication.

Fitz.

You forgot to talk about the chocolate box....confusebiggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Body mount (body bracket) is welded under the floor of the body shell
Frame body bracket (frame body mount) is welded or riveted on the frame
