Had to have been my most enjoyable October work day in memory.  Weather was gorgeous with it being in the low 20s and the boats and seadoos were going by constantly with the odd wakeboarder.  The lake has hardly cooled off.  Counted 30 sailboats and pleasure boats on the lake as I came over the bridge on my way home.  I love working on roofs so being up there with a little view and the sound of boaters  made for just an awesome day.  I marvel every day at God's creation.  Had to show our GM representation on the job.  The Ford is parked out by the road in case it needs a tow.

I remember working on my place way up about 100 feet above the northern Alberta lake in early October in 99.  Cool crisp air, pounding nails with a hammer that belinged to my dad, sawing wood, the geese and cranes flying over in the blue, blue sky to give you that slight feeling of urgency to spur you on and the occasional cold beer as the day would wear on.

That was the life!

Beautiful Jerel, just beautiful.

Hot summer days at the lake may be fun but these beautiful fall days are second to none, I agree.

Today was an identical to yours with the geese just constantly flying over and very low over the house as a few of them did land.  I hunted ducks quite abit when I was a kid and we would just dream about some geese flying over us to get a crack at them.  Now you see them all over the west and I don't think many of them even fly south anymore.  Neat to hear them honking though.

I spent the 1st day of October on Lake Erie. Went from Turkey Point out about 7 klms offshore to Ryerson's Island (Pottahawk). Twice, once in my 270 SeaRay, likely the last of the year. Then a friend who has a 41 Formula with twin 450 HP Cummins Turbo diesels took me out on his. Man that is an awesome ride!

It's a nice way to stretch out the summer.  I was just surprised of how many people were able to make the effort to get out on the water.  I remember a few years back having a day like this near the end of September and going water skiing with no wet suit and it being warm like this but never into October.  This lake gets to around 23 degrees in the summer and today it felt to me like still in the mid to upper teens.  Have to enjoy it when we can because we know winters coming.

Nice photos Jerel. The view down the valley looks exceptional from those shots. Not a cloud to be seen. Excellent day for work! (or day dreaming!)
