Good Suburban Story

>> Accident north of Deer Lodge on I-90. The driver was appx 22 year old guy

>> heading east to College. He had left central Washington early in the
>> morning. He fell asleep at the wheel and drifted off the shoulder hitting

>> the end of the section of guard rail.
>>
>> The guard rail came through the right headlight, engine compartment,
>> firewall, glove box, passenger seat, rear seat and exited out the
driver's
>> side of the rear window. That is 120 LF of guard rail that threaded
>> through the suburban.
>>
>> No passengers and the driver was not injured.  TALK ABOUT LUCK!!!

>> I am sharing this as a reminder to all about NOT driving when you
shouldn't
>> be behind the wheel (drinking, texting, distracted or just plain tired).
>
> I'd bet anything that everyone who EVER had an accident doing things they

> individuals (a lot of whom are no longer with us due to accidents),
> thought that they COULDEN'T multi-task behind the wheel???? If they had,
> they wouldn't have tried, and wouldn't be a statistic now.

Holy Crow, that Sub looks identical to mine, well you know what I mean. Talk about luck, but isn't it nice to know what a Suburban can endure?

SCARY.. for sure, its better to get there late than not at all

when I used to drive from Red Deer to Fort MacMurray, I had my designated rest stops, and I followed them to the tee, even if I felt that all was well, I took that 20-30 minutes rest. if I had to be there at a certain time I would just leave an hour or so earlier so I could still have my rest breaks

drive safe my friends

Ray did that shot give you shivers too? I have to agree with you, look what a 'Burb can take. Luckily he was alone. Better if he'd have stopped for a rest.

Shivers for sure, my young drivers are 23, 21 & 18. My girls 23 & 18 will only drive the Suburban because they feel safer.

Yep that's why I drive mine, comfy, cozy, and up higher so I can see more of what's going on around me. I'll just use the crush zone built into all these new little cars, I don't need one.

Wow! Having known someone who passed away as a result of being asleep at the wheel I am well aware of what will happen.
