It's not my favourite colours for a 66 GP, but............

Somewhere I read that the "less than a hundred" is actually all 4 speed cars, not big block four speed. I sold mine long ago and it's not "ever" for sale, I saw one burned to a crisp years ago at an insurance auction and I test drove a totally rotten 327 4 speed many years ago.

My point? The odds of me ever having another factory 4 speed 66 GP appear to be decreasing all the time since this one is out of my range!

provincial White /Ermine white seems to be the most common colour choice for that time

I would like it more in all white than with the black top. Somehow, on that exact car I just don't find it striking.

Nice thing about colour is we all have unique tastes.

Welcome here!

I have been gazing at that white car since I first saw it listed for sale, maybe a year or so ago?

Just not something I will likely ever own again, sadly.  About 20 years ago, I had the same car (big block, factory 4 speed) as you have, except blue with the white interior. Of all the cars I've owned, it's the only one I really really would like to drive again.

Hey,

You guys look like you know your Pontiac's alot more than I do, maybe you can let me know more info about the 1966 Grande Parisiennes. I have GM documentation on the white '66 but it doesn't really break down how many were made or how rare the car really is. Maybe you can shed some light on it. I know out of all the cars we have that one is the most memorable to people they always ask about it. They only made 5147 Grande Parisiennes in 1966, but I do not know the breakdown other than that. Someone at the Radium BC car show a few years ago told me there was less than 100 Big block 4 speeds built, but I am not sure if that is true.

If you know anyone looking to buy my 1966 let me know. $26,000 or best offer. It will also be running through one of the spring auctions either Calgary, Red Deer, or Moose Jaw. We are also open to trades on this car.

Thanks

Chris

At one time I think someone on here showed a GM document stating less than 100 4 speed 66 Grande Parisiennes. I wish I could find that again.

At any rate, I don't think there is any doubt that your car is less than 100 made. I purchased my first 66 Grande Parisienne in November 1975 and have "followed" them ever since. Other than your's and mine, I've seen 2 4 speed cars, one of them a 327.

On a side note, interesting that your car is built only 4 days after mine was!

Make sure you post here once you know which auction it will be going to please. If I can't have it, maybe at least someone on here will be able to buy it!

Howdy guys, that discussion really hurts as my brother and i parted out and made into a crude stock car  a really quite nice green 66 Grande Parisenne 2 door hardtop 327 with a 4 speed.  If its any consolaiton the engone is still runnng and the tranny is still shifting fine in a 33 plymouth coupe.  less than a 100!  What a couple of boobs!

I guess I m trying to make it up by saving everyone of these that I can .  For the new guy, carl, I have  a396 Powerglide 66 Grande with Air, and a pretty nice southern Alberta parts car (almost too good really) I checked with GM vintage vehicle service on the 396 car and 23 of the 5147 grande two doors built were built with AC while 782 had the 396 if that helps your info base.  It would be apparent  then that the vast majority of the 396 cars  were built with automatics rather than with 4 speeds. I wonder if any actually came with the three speed manual.

I m hoping that some day mine will be as nice as yours however i am shooting to go visit another 66 fanatic (Grande Jim) in Port Alberni next July, finished or not.

Forget about selling it and come along! (carl too)  What an assemblage that would be

I THINK I READ SOMEWHERE HERE THAT SOMEONE (CARL?) HAD A BLUE '66 WITH WHITE INTERIOR THAT HE SOLD BACK IN THE 80'S.  I CAN'T FIND THAT PARTICULAR THREAD, THOUGH.

I JUST MET A GUY IN OTTAWA THIS SUMMER THAT HAS A '66 JUST LIKE THAT, BOUGHT IT IN '89 I THINK, IN ALBERTA OR SASK.  IT'S BLUE WITH WHITE GUTS, AND HAS A 427 4 SPEED. NON-ORIGINAL MOTOR, HE SAID IT WAS ORIGINALLY A 396 CAR.

THERE'S NO WAY HE'LL EVER SELL IT, HE AND HIS DAD HAVE A FEW NICE CARS, AND THIS WAS HIS FIRST, OR ONE OF HIS FIRST CARS. IT'S IN PRETTY GOOD SHAPE, HE DRIVES IT EVERY SO OFTEN, BUT NOT AS MUCH AS I WOULD.

I THOUGHT WHOEVER OWNED IT BEFORE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW.

THANKS, DAVE.

Yup, that's my old car, guaranteed! Cool car, wish I had it back. When I sold it the car had around 160,000 miles but it was pretty solid still. Factory electronic ignition, power windows, power antenna, posi, tinted glass. I sold it for 5300 in January 89 and the buyer resold it that fall to the current owner. I was third owner.
