'73 is my favourite year for the Colonnades. $1500 Clams for the 442. Say it ain't so!

I know you have posted about these cars before Fred and had forgotten that the blue one is a 4 speed.

Love the white interior on the blue one. Does it have a console or no console?

Can you post some more shots of these cars, in and out.

including several with 4 speeds wink

I think I have the old e-Bay auctions for both those 442s save on my computer. The red one from 2008, the blue one from 2007.

Here is a page out of the Oldmobile Parts Manual for the 1973 - 1977 Cutlass consoles. It also shows the top plate for the 4-speed as being 1973-only.

Here is a pair of GM Black Lake Proving Ground pictures from the long-lead press preview in the summer of 1973. The car is a 1973 Oldsmobile 442 Engineering Toy that Olds engineers were using to showcase the upcoming extra hot 455 1974-spec 442 that ultimately was stillborn (the Arab oil embargo in October 1973 killed all hopes of it appearing).

Note the exhaust tips; they are shared with the production 1973 Pontiac Grand Am & GTO. The striping on the hood & sides is non-production.

Ray, we talked about the tips on your 73 GT, well here is a factory equipped car with them.

The Hurst Olds for 1973 actually got these exhaust extensions but no other Olds to my knowledge. So these one year only chrome extensions were GTO, GT and Hurst Olds standard, I believe standard on dual exhaust Grand Ams, remember standard GA power was a 400 2bbl with single exhaust, and optional on LeMans.

Great pictures!! Right now we have some snow in Alberta. The pictures of those '73's bring back memories. My Dad was a salesman and he got a '73 Cutlass new, nice thing back then he could still drive a 2dr. He also had a real nice '79 Cutlass Supreme 2dr, he drove that one right off the showroom floor. The '73 started my love afair with the GM '73-'77 A- Bodies.
