I'm looking to get some quotes to have the body and paint work on my 67 Acadian. I know it's costly to contract this part out but I have no experience, tools or time to get this work done.
I'm looking for suggestions from those who live in the Winnipeg and surrounding area who have had work done in the past. I'm not in a real rush for the work to get done, but I also don't want someones uncle Bill working on it for 7 years either.
I should have paid more attention at car shows, paint work done by so and so....
Now that my garage is finished I'd like to get to breaking this car down over winter but I need a body shop lined up before I get ahead of myself.
I think I've settled on a place called Auto Resurrection here in Winnipeg. They tend to focus on the classics and I see they have already done a 66 Acadian. The 64 Pontiac is also a members car on this site.
The owner of the shop had a look at my 67 and I'm happy with the quote and detailed description of the work he will perform. Now I need to source full rocker panels and front fenders.
kevin: you can come by anytime and check out the 64, I am very happy with the quality work of Ralph at autoresurrection. Yes he may be pricey, but quality costs. you can be confident that you won't have to redo shoddy work in 5-10 years.
As it has been said before quick, cheap, quality,Pick two.

I know that Golden Leaf has them and they are 547.00 a piece for full quarters. Here is the link. I will look if they have fenders also. You would need 66 Nova fenders because the 67 Novas are different. Ah yes, they have the front fenders too for 547.00 also. http://www.goldenleafautomotive.com/main/catalog/catalog.html

Thanks again for the open invitation. I've been busy building the garage since mid August and I always wanted to stop by to see the 64 but couldn't find the time. Maybe sometime over the holidays or early new year will work. The 64 is in a heated shop I presume?
I do all my classic parts shopping through Walker Auto Parts locally since they will gather many orders at once to really cut down on shipping. Turns out that they deal with Golden Leaf as a supplier. Those prices are MSRP prices so I'm curious as to what the final cost will be. I want the latest re-tooled 66 fenders but the catalog doesn't mention if they are or not. I'll do some digging and find out.

Neu15 on here has repro fenders. I looked at them on his car a month ago. He said it took a bit of work to make them perfect but they sure looked good to me.

Your a ways from Olympia Washington but I deal with a place called Biscays Restoration Parts. I know I posted Golden Leaf but the Quarters are 200 cheaper per side and the fenders are the same amount less also. I just picked up a load for myself last weekend. With the dollar so high you can't beat it. I covered all my travel and took my wife to a NFL game and I'm still up 600.00 plus.
I'll throw in a recommendation for Walker too. I was looking for a full underside for an '91 sonoma (floors, rockers, cab mounts) in original thickness steel. They had everything 'cept the cab mounts. They could get thinner cheaper ones, but the original wasn't to be had. They were ready to strap it all to a pallet and get it out here to K-bec for me for $40 shipping.
I finally went with a local supplier who got me the mounts, but credit to Walker for going the extra mile for me, and unbeatable shipping to me. in the end, I paid as much local as i would have from Walker shipped.
