Speaking of carbs

I have a S10 here, that belongs to a friend .. Hes a busy boy, and his 350 V8 S10 was neglected behind his shop for 4 years..  I told him I would tidy it up, and get it running.. Since its a no rush thing, I have left it sitting, as Barb was in Hosp etc..

The other day, I tried to fire it up and no go..   The fuel pump was full of "Kuck ka" and I put a new one on...   It will pump fuel over the cab, but not thorugh the carb!  Pour gas in carb and it runs...
I figured the carb (Edelbrock) inlet must be full ??  I tried a wrench on inlet, and it was froze..   Like any good hot rodder, I applied a 2 foot Johnson bar on it, and managed to get inlet off..   Anyway, the inlet part is stripped, and the carb seems clean....confuse

so  I need Edelbrock looked at or any old "non spred" bore carb, to use to move truck around...    any answers???    My friend will buy a new carb, butI would like a used carb....

The fuel line was new and OK   and pumps fuel ok   The carb can be repaiered  AFTER someone looks at it for me    No one in our area to look at carbs or rear ends... I just need to get it running so i can drive it in and out of shop this winter
