I felt it in my bones before I got out of bed this morning.  Enough fell in Regina that it won't melt right away, so we're all shovelling today.

To spread the misery, here are a couple live webcam feeds courtesy of CBC (updates every minute):

I used to run the satellite truck that did the livestock sales at the various Saskatchewan Wheat Pool yards.  The first one we did was mid-October 1984 in North Battleford, and winter was well underway.  Temps loomed around -20C, with no improvement in sight.  The next year, again mid-October, and temps were +15C.   I'm sure you know that winter on the prairies can start at various times of the year.

I've seen snow fall in Calgary in every month on the calendar, including during a stock car race I was televising live on TNN (The Nashville Network) late August 2002, it was a couple days after a volcano in Alaska erupted, and I think that effected us.  I'm sure the Billy-Bob's of the south couldn't figure that one out.

Wow, talk about rubbing salt in the wounds of anyone from Saskatchewan!

If you guys are passing through here and get stuck in the snow, don't think we'll have a smile on our face while we help push you out.

biggrin

A week ago Monday I snapped an axle on my 31 Pontiac and was temporarily stranded in Wetaskiwin Alberta, then two days later it snowed here too, been cold and miserable ever since, but I hear talk of double digit temperatures in the next week or so... hopefully that is double digit in the plus range

Hey I know that area pretty well, I have a friend from Wadena and I have been trying to snag a 51 Coronet Ambulance out of there for years now!

Ah yes Wadena, the gateway to Quill lake! wink
