I believe there were 4 of these cars used in the films. A guy by the name of Frank Baker in West Vancouver had one of them years ago in a glass case outside his restaurant. That restaurant was located across Marine Drive from Conroy Pontiac Buick, of Cheetah fame.

Another link with the correct information. There were 2 cars used in fiming, and 2 cars for promotions. Frank bought a promo car.

I've actually sat in this car. I was on a tour of the RM Restoration Shop in Chatham Ontario, when it was there for some detailing. The tour guide was a sister of a friend and she allowed me to sit in it after the tour was over.

Talk about vibe. You could just feel the history. Maybe it was all in my head, but I liked it.

While I was there, I also got to sit in a special Jaguar supercar. Can't remember what it was called, but they weren't certified for North American roads. There were a buch of them (20 maybe?) that were in crates in Britain and the RM guys went over and bought them all. Not sure what happened to them though.

Anyway, if you ever get a chance, you've got to take a tour of the RM Restoration shop and museum in Chatham. Very COOL !!

The 1964 Aston Martin DB5 used in the James Bond films Goldfinger and Thunderball, sold for $4.6 million including commission at the RM Auctions Automobiles of London auction today. The price is about 10 times the value of just about any other mint-condition DB5 without the Bond provenance, according to the National Automobile Dealers Association price guide
