Hopefully it is sold by the pound. I've been told the hood and trunk lid are made from fibreglass.....from "George Hurst" himself.
The seats were from the same model year of the Imperial.

I know and love these cars. THe hood and trunk are fiberglass. The trunk is power release from the glovebox. I was trying to buy a 70 30 convertible afew years ago and had a junk one of these all lined up to make a Hurst convertible. Both owners thought their cars were worth way more than realistic so I shelved the plan. Still want to do it.

I think that thing qualifies for Aircraft Carrier status. Remember that Hurst and Oldsmobile had a thing going back then. This Chrysler deal was a last minute thing pulled together when Olds and Hurst couldn't agree.

Anyone know which car was actually designed to be the Hurst for 1970 but made production as something else?

This car got a fair bit of press when it came out in 1970. I remember reading about it in Motor Trend that year. I still have the mag - somewhere.

That's a cool car.
It reminds me of the song "Mexican Blackbird" from ZZ Top:

"Oh, lets drive that old Chrysler down to Mexico, boy"
Said, keep your hands on the wheel there
Oh, it sure is fine, ain't it?
Now, ya got it! Hand me another one of them brews from back there.
Oh, this is gonna be so good.

Or an all black 70 Imperial 2 door coupe with the Crown option half vinyl top and tiny back window.

I am told that here's the car that was designed to be the 1970 Hurst Olds before the deal fell through making way for the Chrysler. Try and picture it in White and Gold with a 455.

Cool info on the Rallye-350 Ray!.
Love the Post example too!.

Personal preference but I'd still prefer the '70 Fury GT over any of the other '70 Mopar fuselage style cars...especially a Six Pack car!.
I've always liked them because we had a '70 non GT "Coupe" in the family when I was a kid...lotsa' great memories including the first car I was ever in an accident with driving it at 16, not my fault of course..
I looked at a real '70 GT 4Bbl car here in Peterboro' about 1992 for $1500 I think but passed...shoulda' woulda' coulda'!?

Yes thats it except for the vinyl top is a full one on this car and it doesn't appear to have the small back window. Still is a gorgeous car that I would love to have.
