Yep, I'm a member for about 4 or 5 mths. now. Great site but need lots a time as there are so many posts on all types of matters. Don't go on every day like I do here, usually once a week. pete

I've been on there for a few years but don't drop by very often..
Usually some great topics on the go and from all walks too but I'm not much for the language used or mud slinging ways a few members seem to get going with sometimes..
There was a great old picture thread on the go last time I was there...if you go looking for it pack a lunch!.

I joined it a while back, and I was just curious if anyone else here was there, and also if anyone else thought a lot of them there seem to be elitist egomaniacs?

I mean there are definitely some great people there, but I posted about a route 66 trip I am planning, and I posted a photo of the car I am taking, my 82 LN7, because this is partially for the EXP and LN7's 30th anniversary and my EXP/LN7 club wants to try to do something, and this is what I want to do, and I have been getting these crazy rude comments and messages because I dared to not only mention my LN7 but I posted a photo of it...

A lot of sites are very very elitist and hard on new members for some unknown reason, Canadian Poncho and Ford EXP are the total opposite and that is one of the reasons I love both sites.

I dunno, I guess I just needed to vent a bit.

I have to admit, when I first joined here I was expecting the usual BS I get when i join a site, but you guys are different and I was warmly welcomed and treated very well, I was helped out with my camera issue, I was helped out with my 31 Pontiac rad cap issue, and I have felt welcome here every time I visit!

I could never figure out, why these, "so called car guys", had the right to slam others about different cars..

If I was not interested, in your brand of car, or your trip, I would pass on the post....bleh

Maybe thats why folks like it herebiggrin We celebrate Canadian Pontiacs, Beaumonts & Acadians (sold on at Pontiac dealers)  and (it seems) every other car built  lol...

we even allow the affection in the direction of Caddy's   of course, they were sold at Pontiacs dealers too  lol

I lurked for years, but the reason I joined is because someone wrote threads about my own Rat Rod Tow Truck and all of the facts wrong, and someone else wrote one about a good friend of mine and his vintage car wrecking yard, and they said he refused to sell anything and was a crazy old man, I've known him for 15 years and he is the total opposite, and a write-up like that spewing nonsense and lies as truth could hurt his business, so I joined to rectify those... oddly they were quite respectful when I did correct them on those threads. (or at least they seemed that way)

Man have we got you fooled!!!!  [Just kidding] I realized after my post I didn't join as a member to HAMB, I just go on & read the posts etc. It was there that changed my mind about doing straight axle in 52. Frt. str. strg. box doesn't work too well on tha axle set up, & I put too many miles on to enjoy driving a "dump" truck like ride!!  Besides ,I spent too many yrs. driving heavy trucks, so I'll leave well enough alone on 52 w/84 chassis undr it!!!!

I had never been to the site prior to today.  With that many members, you can bet that some are real "members"! 

I was born and raised in a small town..... I'll stick to CP.  It suits me great.
