RE: New from New England

Well I was at the shop Friday and took a few pictures. All the panels were dry fitted and everything lined up Great. So now the welding will start. Hope to have that completed by the end of December.

Spent a little time welding in a patch on the passenger front fender.

All the body panels are welded and started to filling all the seams.

I have added about half of the sound/heat matting .

Hope to have it in primer and the rest of the matting installed by next Satruday.

WELCOME! AAAAwwwsome--Bird. Nice to see it was not part of Thanks Giving a few weeks ago. They were a great car and were always a cut above the Camaro. Hope you enjoy site as much as I do. Looks like you are really doing a fine job. Went through it with mine. All the best and merry-Xmas. Newbie Bob 72 Lux.

Well Got the Body in Primer. Fitted the Doors and Trunk Lid. Drilled the Trunk and Rear Quarters and rough fitted the Rear Spoiler.

And completed installing the matting.

You have done a huge amount of work and its really looking good , this gives the rest of the members in a similar spot a moral boost.
I have a original paint car and one day i will do it right but with all of us its taking the first step and commiting the time and work.
How much more sheet metal prep do you have to go,and when do you think the base coat is going on.

The sheet metal work is complete. I'm going with a PPG single stage paint. Base coat clear coat is great for adding depth to most colors, but you just don't get that effect with white. I hope to have the paint on by the end of January and back on the road by the end of March.

Steve I installed a complete Garner system. The closes you can get to stock. It took about two years for them to develop their current sound.
The best thing about the Garner pipes they fit like a glove. Every part just fit perfectly.
