Picked Up My Service Manuals Today............

.....but I still have a few more to go back for. Some older ones but mostly the newer kind. I will weed them out to see what I have and keep.

Truck was on it's frame stops. A little heavy for an 18 truck with 514,568 kms on it. Tomorrow I go for my engines.........

I had the day off. I would have come and helped. Problem is, I have a case of kleptomania and my trunk would have been filled when you weren't looking...

My Dad always called himself a "collectomaniac" rather than that other frowned upon word... I will get rid of some as there are medium duty and pontiac books in there.....

Yes, independent. We have a deal with a GM dealer about 25 miles from us. We get our GM parts from them and our sales department gets new vehicles out of there as well. We are not allowed to have unsold new GM vehicles on our yard though. We stick to that carefully as we would jeopardize their franchise if we got caught with display units.

It has worked out quite well. I've bumped up our AC Delco parts purchasing from a local jobber store to supplement the parts department, so in most cases we are still selling exactly the same part. Of course our margins are down a bit but it is still ok. That supplier delivers to us 4 times a day so that is great.

There's a lot of things I don't miss at all, I have to say. A lot of that crap a guy used to put up with is gone, and that is fine. Some of those stupid policies GM had and the endless paperwork is gone which is wonderful.

You hit the mother load. Any 61 Pontiac manuals in there? If so and you want to sell I would be willing to buy. Or if any one else has one they want to part with or lend out for a couple of years.

When I go through tmen I will see. I will keep any singles but will disperse the duplicates. I want to build a library of books for the "garage" look and a conversational piece..
